COUNTYWIDE BURN BAN EFFECTIVE APRIL 24TH 🔥🚫
Due to the ongoing dry weather conditions and heightened risk of wildfires spreading across South Georgia counties, Polk County has issued a countywide burn ban in accordance with the State of Emergency declared by Governor Brian Kemp.
Effective April 24th, 2026, the burn ban will remain in place through September 30th, coinciding with the conclusion of the annual summer burn ban period. All outdoor burning is prohibited during this time to help safeguard public safety, protect property, and preserve natural resources. We urge residents to remain vigilant and to report any signs of fire promptly to local emergency services.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping keep Polk County safe.
