Beat Cancer Today

Tonight’s first pitch at the Cedar Rapids Kernels Beat Cancer Game was by Grayson Erbes.

In March of 2016, when Grayson was only 11 months old, his parents noticed some concerning symptoms that led them to the University of Iowa Hospital Children’s Hospital. In the hospital he underwent several tests and a CT scan revealed a Neuroblastoma tumor along his lower spine. A surgeon successfully removed 95% of his tumor and the remaining 5% was successfully treated with 6 months of chemotherapy. Grayson celebrated his 5 year Cancer Free milestone in February 2022.
