Got a call from a customer who had her porch painted by a mutual acquaintance. It wasn't sanded or scraped and had voids of paint that made it look like the great lakes when it rained. This is why people don't trust contractors. Now she's calling me to fix something that should have been in the original bid. Which I had nothing to do with. I feel bad she had to pay me, but look at the end result. You get what you pay for. If it's too good to be true, it probably is.

Last post on this bench. I'm so thankful I got to work on it, and that it's sitting in front of the Blind Pig on Main in Monticello. It feels good knowing so many people will use it and see it. And even though you won't see a screw, that bench will outlast me if it's taken care of or not. And I couldn't have asked for better results. I hope the people at the Pig like it just as much as I like their food and service. I build custom cabinetry and other carpentry so shoot me a message if you'd like an estimate. Thanks! Also the bench is soft, but somehow manages to feel smooth as glass at the same time.

So, the bench I made is in front of the Blind Pig in Monticello on Main St. I'm so proud of this bench and that I got to build something hundreds of people will hopefully admire and sit on. I've built a dozen benches for people and I'd have to say this is in my top 2. Thanks to the Pig for entrusting me with this project. I'm so grateful I got to make it.

All I have left is to put a gloss finish on it after it dries for about 45 minutes, and it's ready for Main St.! I'm really excited and grateful to have had the opportunity to do this product. I hope I did Monticello and the Blind Pig justice. First picture is of the front with a live edge, 2nd is the back. I'll post one last picture when it has the gloss on it. Thanks everyone for the support!

The Pentel 205, 500 and 1000. They're all made in Japan, so you know they're high quality. What I love about the 1000 is that when you push on the top when you first pull it out it doesn't advance the lead. Rather it brings out the metal point that is stored inside so it's safe from bends with the lead where it was when you previously used it. When finished, pushing down on the side clip brings the tip back into the housing. So there's no extra steps to put it away, and the clip always is tight and doesn't gradually get wider. So you never lose it. Buy once, cry once.
