With all the legal changes going on, several factors have come to light early on. First and foremost, the agent you pick to represent you (both sides) REALLY matters more now than ever. I won't name names, because what's the point? But there are agents out there that have no idea of all the changes (and the steps along the way too!), what they mean for our clients and our profession.
No matter what REALTOR you choose to use, I strongly recommend you make a few phone calls before signing ANYTHING. Ask questions. Those that won't answer questions may not know the answers, which could put you in legal jeopardy. Yes, everyone will want you to sign the Buyer's Agreement right away (we actually have to, it's now the law), BUT, you do have the right to interview several agents before signing anything too. Keep in mind, you can always consult an attorney, or just call me for answers too.
