Every day, paramedics answer the call when people are experiencing some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Whether responding to medical emergencies, accidents, disasters, or critical illnesses, they bring clinical expertise, calm under pressure, and unwavering commitment to the communities they serve.

Thanks to all of the paramedics on our team and across the EMS profession. We appreciate you and your service, your sacrifice, and your commitment to improving and saving lives every day.

Happy International Paramedics Day!

This morning, our final ambulance providing mutual aid to Cherokee County pulled back into FP headquarters, marking the conclusion of an incredible chapter of service. As our crews returned home, we found ourselves taking a moment to reflect on what has been an unforgettable experience.

Beginning May 7 at 8:00 a.m., First Priority Mobile Healthcare committed at least one fully staffed ambulance crew 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to help ensure the citizens of Cherokee County continued to receive emergency medical care as Cherokee County EMS worked to establish and launch its new service.

While we were honored to answer the call, what has impacted us the most has been the incredible people we met along the way. The kindness, sincerity, and overwhelming gratitude shown by our patients, the Cherokee County EMS leadership team, local fire departments, public safety partners, and community members has been truly humbling. Your encouragement and appreciation meant more to our crews than words can adequately express.

This mission also served as a powerful reminder of what EMS is truly about. Agencies from across South Carolina came together with one shared purpose: to help our neighbors in their time of need. Regardless of the patch on our sleeves or the name on the side of our ambulances, we all answered the same calling - to serve with compassion, professionalism, and excellence.
We are incredibly proud to have been a small part of this historic effort and grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside Cherokee County EMS during this transition. To everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, responded to calls, covered shifts, coordinated resources, and supported one another - thank you. This was a true team effort, and it demonstrated the very best of our profession.

As we return our focus to serving the communities we call home, we do so with new friendships, lasting memories, and an even greater appreciation for what can be accomplished when EMS comes together with one common goal.

Because at the end of the day, that's what the EMS profession has always been about - people helping people when they need it most.
