Volunteers Needed
If so, we have opportunities in various locations/areas for you to provide companionship for our patients.
What does selfcare look like and why is it so important!?!
Well... let's start with why?
In addition to our job, many Americans also wear several different hats: the head of the house hold, the caretaker, the mother, father sister, brother, spouse.... the list goes on..
When we fail to wear that hat when it is needed, we feel guilty.....
But why do we feel guilty, when we are figuratively drowning?!?! We wouldn't feel shame or guilt if we were drowning in the literal sense. And if you were literally drowning, most people would not expect for you to sacrafice your life for theirs.
So before you help someone or even think about helping someone, just make sure you have taken care of your self first. This isn't selfish, narcissistic or anything negative.. this is called self love.
So now... let's talk about what selfcare looks like.
Selfcare looks like a lot of things. Some common examples of selfcafe include:
Exercising
Sleeping
Reading
Meditation
Stretching
Connecting with friends and family
Joining an organization
Volunteering
Eating healthy

Want to be happier!?! Want to slice through some of that anxiety that was packed on by the pandemic? Try volunteering.
"Research suggests that volunteers aren’t just helping the communities they serve. People who volunteer actually experience a boost in their mental health —
While it’s true that people who are happier do tend to spend more time volunteering, the current study suggests that you don’t need to already feel happy to benefit from it. In fact, some research suggests that people who start out with lower levels of well-being may even get a bigger boost from volunteering."

Why hospice?
Well.. did you know that 80% of Americans would prefer to die at home? Despite this tidbit, 60% of Americans die in hospitals, 20% in nursing homes and only 20% at home.
Hospice can help to bring more Americans back home to pass away in comfort and in peace.
