War and Peace

Are you ready to go to war?

My personal response would be -- it depends. If one was talking about a battle to save our nation and our state, then count me in.
However, if one was talking about yet another unconstitutional war, one without formal declaration by Congress, then count me OUT!

As many of you are aware, Campaign for Liberty has long taken a stance of maintaining a constitutional, non-interventionist foreign policy. Not only is our military overstretched, which weakens our national defense, but these undeclared, unconstitutional wars are bankrupting our country.

“Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes . . . known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few . . . No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare.”
~James Madison

The U.S. Constitution specifically states that Congress alone has the authority to decide if we go to war. Unfortunately for America, President Biden (in line with many presidents before him) seems to be headed down the path of foregoing restraint and continuing the practice of engaging our nation into another unconstitutional war.

This is the perfect time for us to introduce Dan McKnight, a 13-year veteran of the military, including service in the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army, and the Idaho Army National Guard. On Thursday, June 9, 2022, Wyoming Campaign for Liberty will be hosting Dan McKnight at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1150 N. Poplar Street, Casper.

Having served in Afghanistan, Dan has an intimate understanding of the sacrifice involved with serving our nation. As Dan and others have voiced, states must take the lead to get the U.S. out of endless wars.

Dan is also leading the charge to commit members of the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate to obey their oath to the U.S. Constitution and uphold the authority of congressional war powers.

Please join us on Thursday, June 9, to hear Dan's presentation. Be sure to note that we are holding our meeting at a different location this month! Here are the particulars:

Meeting Details

Date: Thursday, June 9, 2022
Time: 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Location: Hilton Garden Inn, 1150 N. Poplar Street, Casper

In addition to hearing from Dan, we are excited to announce another proven fighter for constitutional government, Harriet Hageman, will be joining us as well.

Harriet has time and time again, fought in court on a federal level as an attorney defending the rights of Wyoming citizens. Her expertise as a water rights and natural resource attorney has been instrumental in successfully representing her clients and in stopping the federal government's encroachment upon private property rights.

Harriet Hageman's battleground may be different than those that Dan McKnight fought upon, but their enemy is still the same - overreaching unconstitutional actions of federal government bureaucracies and elected officials.

This will be a meeting you won't want to miss! Please mark this day on your calendar!

Patriots,

You know what they say - big things come in little packages. Just ask Andy Smith, Grace Smith's dad.

If you have been following Wyoming news, you may have heard of Grace Smith, the 16-year-old Laramie High School student who was arrested in October for refusing to obey a school mask mandate.

Citing the fact that the school's mask mandate is a violation of the Wyoming Constitution and violates her civil liberties, Grace has done at age 16 what very few have experienced in a lifetime. She has endured multiple school suspensions, received two $500 citations for trespassing, and was arrested for the simple "crime" of attending her high school classes without a mask.

Grace Smith and her father, Andy, have joined a lawsuit to sue Governor Gordon, Wyoming State Health Officer Alexia Harrist, the Wyoming Department of Health, as well as numerous Wyoming school districts.

On Thursday, December 2, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Grace and her father will join us at our Natrona County Campaign for Liberty meeting. We will gather at the Holiday Inn East, 721 Granite Peak Drive in Casper to hear Grace share her courageous battle to defend individual liberty!

Meeting Details:

Date: Thursday, December 2, 2021
Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Location: Holiday Inn East, 721 Granite Peak Drive, Casper
Cost: Free

You can watch Grace’s arrest here.

It is an inspiration to hear this bold story of non-compliance lived out by such a young patriot shared on national media. But it will be even better to join us and listen to Grace's story in person!

Benjamin Franklin once said, "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." Grace offers that quote in defense of her actions . . . I would agree with both Franklin and Grace Smith.

Please feel free to invite your family and friends -- YOUNG and old!
