Lupe needs someone to choose him.

Lupe thought he had finally found his forever home, but his adopter found a “better” cat and backed out. Now this sweet boy is still waiting, and his foster can only hold him until the end of the month.

Lupe was found living at a gas station last year. After surviving outside and waiting so long for a safe, permanent home, he deserves someone who sees how special he really is.

He is around 3 years old, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. He is very sweet, super affectionate, and loves other cats. He would be such a wonderful companion for someone willing to give him the chance he has been waiting for.

Lupe is not a backup option. He is not “less than.” He is a loving, deserving cat who just needs the right person to finally say, “You’re home.”

Happy July 4th from Black Magic Animal Rescue! 🐾

We will be open limited hours today so our volunteers can spend time with their families and help keep the animals calm and cared for during the holiday weekend.

We’ll be back to our normal hours on Monday.

Please keep pets safely indoors tonight, double-check gates and doors, and make sure ID tags and microchip information are up to date. Fireworks can be scary, and more pets go missing around this holiday.

It's officially July! We have been backed up with surrender and TNR requests. I have not been able to send updates to everyone about various cats. It's been a constant cycle of trapping, medical cases, and keeping things running smoothly. I'm sorry.

One major medical case we received was three little kittens, all needing eye removals. Two are looking at losing one eye each and the third is looking at losing both eyes. They are severely emaciated from not being able to keep up with their feral colony. Two are some what friendly, but one is very fearful.

If you can donate towards the surgery, the GoFundMe link is below. It is going to be expensive to get them squared away regarding medical care. But we have some wonderful supporters and I just know we can do it. We have to. These babies deserve it.

We could also use a foster(s) for these babies. They are eating solid foods, but will need someone to continue socializing them after surgery.

🐾 Community Cat Trapping Notice 🐾

We will be safely trapping community cats in the E Manor Dr area pictured during the timeframe of June 24th-30th as part of our No More Litters Program.

Cats trapped through this program will receive TNR services — Trap, Neuter, Return or Rescue — which may include spay/neuter surgery, ear-tipping, vaccines when available, and recovery before being returned to their outdoor home.

If you are missing a cat from this area during this timeframe, please message us as soon as possible with:

🐾 A clear photo of your cat
🐾 Your cat’s name
🐾 Last known location
🐾 Whether your cat is microchipped
🐾 Any identifying features, collar, or markings

We do our best to check for owned cats and post found cats when possible, but the safest way to prevent your pet from being trapped is to keep owned cats indoors or safely contained while trapping is active.

The Peart Park owl was captured!

Big thank you to Arizona Wildlife Resource for picking up this poor guy that was having a rough summer. He was spotted multiple times, but kept leaving before he could get help. He was sadly hit by a car after being chased by local birds. Some wonderful locals made sure he was safe and comfortable while help arrived.

We’re sorry to share that we have to cancel today’s adoption event.

One of the cats in our care became sick and needed to be seen at the vet, so our focus today has to be on making sure they get the care they need.

We know many of you look forward to seeing the cats on Saturdays, and we truly appreciate your understanding. Rescue can change plans quickly, and sometimes the animals need us in ways we can’t predict.

We’ll update everyone when we know more, and we hope to be back at our next event soon.
