The Helper will assist the Machine Operator as needed throughout the shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Cut all straps and remove all excess cardboard from sheets before entry into machine.
* Safely operate standard warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
* Maintain a clean work area, machine, tools and equipment.
* Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.
* Maintain inventories of items needed by operator.
* Perform quality control on own work.
* Assist Machine Operators as necessary.
* Duties may be expanded upon and additional duties may be assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Manufacturing experience in the corrugated industry preferred.
* Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
* Knowledge equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
* Read and interpret product layout and production specifications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to handle or feel.
* The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.
* The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
* The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

* Ask for Sit Down / Stand up reach forklift driver (Certified OSHA) openings.
