Steele & Associates, LLC is a highly respected, long-established CPA firm providing tax, accounting, and advisory services to individuals, businesses, and nonprofits throughout Northern Nevada and Northern California — as well as internationally, including clients in Japan. We are growing and seeking a dedicated Tax Accountant who wants to join an experienced, well-established local firm with deep roots in the region.

Your Role As a Tax Accountant at Steele & Associates, you will prepare and review a wide range of tax returns, assist clients with year-round planning, and work alongside a team of seasoned professionals invested in your success. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, values stability, and appreciates being part of a firm that emphasizes accuracy, client trust, and long-term relationships.

Responsibilities
-Prepare individual, partnership, corporate, fiduciary, and exempt organization tax returns
-Assist with tax planning and analysis for a diverse client base
-Perform tax research and interpret federal and state regulations
-Review financial documents for accuracy and completeness
-Support responses to IRS and Nevada Department of Taxation inquiries
-Collaborate with partners and staff on complex tax engagements

Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
-CPA strongly preferred (or actively pursuing certification)
-5+ years of tax preparation experience
-Experience in a public accounting firm is required
-Proficiency with professional tax and accounting software
-Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines
-Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
