Have you ever noticed it appeared a tree was misting all around you and the ground was shiny? It’s not the tree transpiring water, but actually aphids pooping.

Aphids have sucking mouth parts and are very efficient at it. So much so, that the sugars they are consuming aren’t fully digested and can be blown out the backside.

You can see it raining down in the first part of the clip, then a dark sticky sidewalk, followed by sticky, glossy leaves.

If you see a free parking space under very shiny asphalt, probably best to skip it!

We are starting a nice backyard paver patio today in Carson City. We’ll remove the concrete, then working on base prep today through tomorrow. Shade Concepts already set their posts for the shade structure and will install the rest of it after we finish the patio.
