Another product of what happens when a mechanic uses the power of Thor's mighty hammer. This slip fit shaft was beaten and mushroomed to the point that the end is almost 1/8" larger than the shaft itself.

Gearbox secrets revealed:
You can still see the snap ring groove on this shaft, just above the bearings. However due to the vigorous hammering during the installation process, there's no way those bearings are coming off without removing material first.

This machine lifts and dispenses rolls of paper in excess of 4000lbs at high rates of speed. The original redesign experienced frequent breakdowns from broken shafts, chains or worn sprockets..."frequent" meaning as much as 50 times a year. Our redesign with the elimination of chains and sprockets along with the weak (undersized) chuck shaft should virtually eliminate their downtime related to the failures referenced.
