🚨 Public Service Announcement 🚨
If we don't know you're performing, we can't aggressively brag about you on the internet.
And let's be honest. That would be a tragedy.
Don't make us find out you were starring in a musical three weeks after closing night. Our feelings can only take so much.
Are you a current or former Higher Voice Studio student with an upcoming show? Whether you're belting, dancing, acting, conducting, accompanying, or doing that one scene where you dramatically stare into the distance, we want to know about it.
Here's what happens:
🎭 You fill out the short performance form in the Linktree in our bio.
📣 We tell everyone how awesome you are.
👏 Your grandma shares the post before you even see it.
It's a system that works.
While you're there, sign up for our newsletter too. That's where you'll find performance features, studio news, and plenty more opportunities for us to proudly say, "Yep... they trained here."
Don't keep your standing ovation a secret. Send us your show, and we'll happily do what we do: make a big deal about your accomplishments.
Most singers feel resonance.
Few realize they can actually use it.
Have you ever noticed your low notes buzzing in your chest? Or a higher note suddenly feeling like it "moves" into your face?
That's not your imagination. It's information.
When every note feels trapped in your throat, your throat is usually doing far more work than it needs to. But when you learn to recognize where your voice naturally wants to vibrate, everything can start to change.
Less pushing.
Less gripping.
More freedom.
Resonance isn't just something that happens to good singers. It's a skill you can learn to notice, trust, and work with.
The question is: are you listening to what your voice has been telling you all along? 🎶

It’s not because breathing isn’t important.
It’s because breathing changes everything.
Most singers arrive with a system that already works... at least enough to get through the song. Years of habits, compensations, and carefully managed control create a sense of safety. Then someone says, "Let's look at your breathing," and suddenly the foundation starts to shift.
The challenge isn't learning a new skill. It's letting go of an old one.
For many singers, breathing feels less like gaining control and more like surrendering it. And that can be uncomfortable, even when it's exactly what's needed.
So the question is:
Do singers resist breathing because they don't understand it?
Or because it asks them to trust something they can't completely control?
And which one does it hit for you? Give us your feedback! Let us learn from you!

🎓✨ Senior Spotlight: Kayleigh Beth Scialabba-Meehan ✨🎓
After six months at Higher Voice Studio with Caitlin Carlisle, Kayleigh Beth Scialabba-Meehan is preparing for her next chapter at Carlow University, where she will study Nursing. Even as she pursues a career in healthcare, she plans to stay connected to the arts because, as she shared, “I plan on doing community theatre in the future.” 🎭
When Kayleigh first arrived at HVS, she worried she was getting a late start. One of the most meaningful lessons she learned was that “it was never too late to find your voice.” Through lessons, she became more comfortable with how she sounded and learned to use her voice “comfortably and healthily.” That growth helped her gain confidence not only as a singer, but as a person.
Kayleigh’s advice to younger students comes directly from her own experience: “Don't be scared to mess up because it is a part of the process of learning your voice.” She encourages singers to embrace what makes them unique, reminding them that “your voice is unique and isn't going to sound like anyone else's, so learn how to appreciate it and the way you use it.” 💫
One of Kayleigh's most memorable experiences came while understudying Eurydice in Hadestown: Teen Edition. During lessons, she and Caitlin explored “how Eurydice was feeling in the different songs and how that could be interpreted into the way I was singing.” For Kayleigh, learning to connect acting and singing was a turning point. “I love acting,” she shared, and discovering how storytelling could shape her singing “was really meaningful and made me grow as a performer.”
Another lesson that has stayed with her came from Caitlin's encouragement to “become more comfortable with listening to my voice” and to “become my own best friend while listening to myself sing.” Those words helped Kayleigh develop confidence, self-compassion, and a deeper appreciation for her own voice. ❤️
