New court filings in a Boone County civil lawsuit detailing a Zionsville property dispute claim that the deceased owner, Carolyn Pennington, had a deeply strained relationship with her family, including her grandson, former NBA player Josh McRoberts. Attorneys representing Town Councilor Sarah Sampson filed documents defending the $750,000 land sale, arguing Pennington was of sound mind and acted of her own free will. The McRoberts family maintains the transaction is null and void, accusing the Sampsons of pressuring Pennington to sell her property six days before her death.
