What the Wilderness Gives Back
There’s a quiet shift that happens when you spend enough time in the wilderness.
At first you’re there for a purpose. For me, that purpose has always been hunting. Moving slowly through the backcountry before sunrise, glassing ridgelines, reading tracks in the dust, paying attention to wind and sound. Over the years those habits sharpen your awareness in ways you don’t really notice until you realize you’re seeing things other people walk right past.
Lately I’ve started carrying a camera more often.
Not as a wildlife photographer in the traditional sense. I’m not hiking miles just to capture a perfect image. The camera is simply another way to document the moments that already happen when you spend enough time outside.
And those moments add up.

Thoughts on design in the Swiss train system

Stepping into CERN feels like visiting the edge of human curiosity.
Miles underground, machines chasing the smallest particles imaginable. Love the Lego version.
Megève at night.
Lights low, snow glowing, streets humming just enough.
Alpine quiet with a little edge, the kind of place that makes you slow down and stay out later than planned.
Geneva coffee in the morning, French countryside by afternoon, no airports, no security lines, just rails stitching countries together. Switzerland doesn’t just move people, it choreographs movement with precision, clarity, and quiet confidence. As a designer, watching infrastructure communicate this cleanly.
