Giving Claude too much information actually makes it worse.
Welcome back. Episode 3 of 14 in the Claude Code breakdown based on Anthropic’s free certification course.
The lesson this episode: irrelevant context actively reduces Claude’s performance. The goal isn’t to share everything. It’s to share exactly what it needs.
Three tools make this easy.
/init runs once. Claude reads your whole project, builds its own summary, and that summary travels with every request automatically from there.
The # symbol lets you update Claude’s memory in plain language mid-conversation. It remembers.
The @ symbol lets you point Claude directly at a specific file instead of making it search.
Think of it like briefing a new employee. You don’t hand them every document the company has ever created. You give them what they need for the job they’re doing right now.

Part 3 of 14.
Claude Code isn’t a chatbot. It’s a teammate.
Three real demos from Anthropic’s free certification course.
430 million people use a software library called Chalk every week. It had a performance problem. Claude mapped it, planned the fix, and executed it. Almost 4 times faster. No manual debugging.
A company needed to understand why customers were leaving. Claude loaded the data and kept adjusting its approach based on what it found. That’s an agentic workflow. It doesn’t wait to be told the next step. It figures it out.
A developer accidentally included private customer info in code going public. Claude caught it during review. Nobody asked it to look for that. It just knew something was wrong.
You describe the task. Claude figures out the steps.

AI coding tools aren't magic. They're a loop.
Read task. Gather context. Make a plan. Use tools to execute.
The model can't touch your files directly. It asks a tool to do it. The tool does it. The result comes back. The model continues.
That's every coding assistant on the market.
The only difference is how well the model understands what each tool does and how to combine them for complex tasks.
That quality gap is the entire product.
This is part 1 of a 14-part Claude Code breakdown. Each deck gets its own video.
No edits. Just finishing what I started. If you want help with any of this please, just ask! ✌🏽
Enjoy the cinematic editing. I want to give a really basic overview of what vibe coding is all about how to understand what a source code editor is what a hosting platform is what a database platform is what it can cost you how much time it can take you. overall just the basic reality of this, but also how to make it enjoyable. Enjoy.
