The name SATORI RYU which is Japanese, translates to The School Of Understanding. Satori Ryu Kenpo Karate Ju Jitsu is a dynamic art comprised of Kenpo, Shotokan and various forms of Ju Jitsu. Nicholas Raymond Cerio-Professor Nick Cerio (July 9, 1936 — October 7, 1998) Founder of Nick Cerios Kenpo and 10th degree Black Belt. Professor Cerio received his 5th degree Black Belt in 1971 from Professor Chow. And in 1974 founded Nick Cerios Kenpo. Professor Cerio continued training with many famous instructors such as Tadashi Yamash*ta and Gan Fong Chin and is trained in and holds rank in such styles as Judo, Jui-Jitsu, Sil-Lum kung fu, Shoto-Kan Karate, and various other forms of armed and unarmed combat. Professor Cerio was instructor to the R.I State Police and in 1989 was awarded above ranking status by Thomas Burdine of the World Counsel of Sokes. At one point Nick Cerio’s Kenpo schools, which had numbered close to 70 in the U.S.A. and abroad. Professor Cerio passed away in October of 1998 he was an innovator and one of the most respected men in the Martial Arts. I am proud to have tested with and received ranking from Professor Cerio himself and owned and operated a Nick Cerio's Kenpo Dojo in Walpole Massachusetts.
