Topic: Beacon Health LLP systematic dis-enrollment

We have received confirmation that Beacon Health is no longer accepting LLP’s into their network and that they are beginning the process of dis- enrolling LLP providers via certified mail and email notification.

We have already had one LLP provider in Macomb County receive a contract termination notice at her 3 year re-credentialing date.

We have been informed that all LLP’s can expect to receive a notice, stating...and I am quoting from this provider’s notice, “you were credentialed in error. Due to your licensure level, you are ineligible in the State of Michigan.”

Do not think that you are safe from dis-enrollment because you are not near your 3 year re-enrollment date. The Beacon representative that we spoke with, said that LLP’s could be notified prior to their re-enrollment date. Patients are also being notified of the change and that they will have time to find a new qualified network provider.

Please remember that Beacon DOES NOT allow supervision billing under a Psychologist, so this is not a work around.

The solution to this, is to have all of your Chrysler patients go to their Human Resource
Departments, and the UAW to demand that Chrysler drop Beacon Health as their mental health carrier and that they make the same change that General Motors did with utilizing New Horizons managed care, through BCBSM. Their fee schedules are higher and, most importantly, Beacon will quickly get a loud message from the LLP Community, that hopefully, will resonate to the other insurance carriers in the State of Michigan, as well.
