The great escape.

For those who haven’t seen my latest video - let me set the scene. It’s 6.20am on a Monday morning. I venture off the yard into the sandschool on the way to the horses fields to collect the first horse of the day.
I’m mid way to moving a pole helpfully left out by the last person in the school (me. It was me.) when I see two bay heads appear over the hedge. The hedge that borders between my sandschool and the walkway. Where there are no horses. Especially not bay horses. And definitely not two.

The nearest bay horse to me should be two fields away, not casually munching on the cherry trees which are my current morning snack of choice.

So plan for the morning successfully ruined in the space of 30 seconds, and I scuttle off to investigate when/where/why/how. While ringing dad to tell him to get his arse out of bed as while I enjoy corralling horses by myself, leading these two together over distances greater than 30cm usually turns into something similar to an MMA match.

The horses were very happy to see me and happily wandered over to say hello. The distinct lack of drama, whinnying or heavy breathing tells me that they may have been there for a while. Horses returned to the field, thankfully nothing dramatic just a large dent in the gate that had bounced open from the force of a large yearling deciding to body slam into it. Of course.

Which leads to my main question - what time is too early for gin on a Monday morning?

Dear horses everywhere, have you ever wondered how long humans actually live? I wonder if any horse out there knows the answer to that.

Just curious, Fergus
