BARCC is deeply grateful to the Healey Administration for listening to survivors, advocates, and service providers; and for taking decisive action to help address the devastating federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funding shortfall.
This 13.8 million dollar investment from the state will help protect essential survivor services across Massachusetts, ensuring that critical resources like BARCC's 24/7 hotline, free counseling, legal advocacy, and community support remain available to those who need them most.
We are proud to stand alongside Jane Doe Inc., the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance (MOVA), and our partners across the Commonwealth in demonstrating the power of collective advocacy. Together, we raised our voices to protect survivor services, and together we made a difference.
While this investment is a critical step toward addressing the FY27 funding gap, our work is far from over. Survivors deserve stable, reliable, and sustainable funding for the services they rely on, regardless of federal funding uncertainties. BARCC remains committed to advocating for long-term solutions that ensure every survivor has access to the care, support, and justice they deserve.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible by reaching out to your legislators. Together, we will continue building a Commonwealth where survivors are supported every step of the way.

Thank you to the Cambridge Community Foundation for supporting survivors!
BARCC recently received an incredibly generous grant from the Cambridge Community Foundation to support our work with local survivors. In the face of challenging times and federal budget cuts, we are so grateful to join this powerful community of nonprofits that are doing good in Cambridge.
