💊 Recent studies show that people taking GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy had up to 50% lower risk of vision loss compared to those on other medications. (More in our newsletter, comment NEWSLETTER to get your first copy.)

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is one of the leading causes of vision loss in older adults. It damages the macula, the part of the eye responsible for central vision, often silently, before symptoms appear.

Researchers compared GLP-1 users against patients on other glucose-lowering and lipid-lowering medications over three years. At every time point, the GLP-1 group had significantly lower rates of both forms of AMD.

Experts believe the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of these drugs may be behind the effect, the same mechanisms that already protect the heart and kidneys.

⚠️ The findings are promising, but researchers are clear: this is observational data, and prospective clinical trials are still needed before any clinical recommendations can be made.

🛡️ Every bite is a chance to activate your body's natural defenses against disease. (More in our newsletter, comment NEWSLETTER for your first copy.)

Your body has five defense systems that shape how long and how well you live: angiogenesis, regeneration, microbiome, DNA protection, and immunity. The right foods switch them on.

🥬 Kimchi: a probiotic that feeds gut bacteria.
🍄 Shiitake & porcini: beta-D-glucan fuels immune defense.
🌰 Walnuts: omega-3s linked to lower cancer and heart disease risk.

🌱 Food doesn't replace medicine. But every meal is a chance to feed the systems that shape how you age.
