Was the pandemic a blessing? Or a curse

After many crazy years of mixing raising kids with a full time job, out of a sudden I found myself unemployed, kidless (the kids where off to College) and to top it all, in the middle of a global pandemic.
At first I felt a mix of panic and uncertainty, I didn't know what to do with myself, we had colleges and bills to pay, not to mention healthcare!

One day my husband seeing my unrest, sat me down and showed me that between our savings and the money he was making, I could for the first time in my life, take some time for myself.

That's when I saw that I had spend the past 20 something years dedicated to the well being of everyone else besides me, working in the most boring job ever (with a great company though) driving kids around starting at 4 am, doing little to no exercise, in poor health and overweight.

Having a complete open schedule was so foreign to me, I don't know how to describe the feeling of waking up and having nowhere to run, no one to rush and no obligations at all, for me it was pure joy.

Being in the middle of the pandemic, my husband was working remotely from home, so we developed a routine of going out for walks, I started following online fitness classes, started shedding the pounds an finally had time to go back to my design roots, I took every online class, updated all my design software and started doing mini projects, you know the saying, "if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life", that's how those days felt.

But I needed real life practice so I made a social media post asking for Guinea pigs, I was looking for companies or individuals who were maybe having a hard time due to Covid and were looking for innovative ways of doing business, the fact is that I got a bunch of people interested and each one thought me something new .
In the coming posts I will tell you the stories of each one, and what I learned (the good and the bad) from each experience, a nd how it led me to define my new business model.
