Affordable housing is one of the state's most urgent issues. We wholeheartedly support Governor Maura Healey’s $5.2 billion housing bill. This bold action will have a big positive impact on the housing crisis affecting the lives of people throughout our state.
Mass. lawmakers didn’t do much last night. But they did pass a $5.2 billion housing bill and legalize ‘granny flats’ across the state - The Boston Globe The bill, the Legislature’s first major housing bill in three years, marks a victory for some advocates, particularly zoning reform proponents and affordable housing supporters. But it left others disappointed.

Pleased to share that we're one of 170 organizations supporting the Zero Carbon Renovation Fund Coalition.
The ZCRF is a bold proposal to allocate $300 million from the state legislature to jumpstart the market for zero carbon renovations in existing buildings in Massachusetts.
The ZCRF will prioritize the most vulnerable populations via affordable housing, public housing, low- and moderate-income homes, schools, BIPOC and women businesses, and buildings located in Environmental Justice communities.
Deep decarbonization enabled by the ZCRF will reduce emissions, enhance climate resiliency, and improve the overall health for communities most in need.

Gratifying to see this action at the state level to address our affordable housing crisis. The governor's plan will create as many as 300 new units per year – one important step in a multi-pronged effort to produce much-needed mixed income housing.
Healey’s $14 billion capital investment plan includes brand-new affordable housing program - The Boston Globe The HousingWorks program will spur the production of 200 to 300 new units of affordable housing each year, according to Governor Maura Healey’s office.
