As our 2026 summer program is underway, we'd like to take a moment to reflect on the impact this program has made over the years. From 2022 to 2026, our summer program has supported the educational and professional journeys of ๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ซ ๐๐ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ with remarkable outcomes:
๐ ๐๐๐% of participants completed high school and graduated on time.
๐ All ๐๐ participants who graduated during the 2025-2026 school year plan to pursue a four-year degree.
๐ All ๐๐ students who graduated between 2022-2025 have enrolled in a four-year college, two-year college, or trade program.
๐ ๐ students continue to build a foundation for their future success as they finish up high school.
๐The most exciting statistic of all: In a survey of program graduates, all ๐๐ respondents intend to pursue a major or minor in the life sciences!
Our summer program is designed to introduce students to careers in the life sciences whilst preparing them for post-secondary school ventures. These outcomes demonstrate the lasting impact the program makes by continuously inspiring students to pursue higher education and careers in the life sciences.

When asked about her favorite part of BioTeach and her experience in the LEAH Daly summer internship program, Cesia Cuc Ramos couldn't choose just one moment.
โEvery day was a new experience and really allowed me to delve into what biotechnology was and expand my horizons.โ
Through hands-on lab work, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and daily discoveries, she gained not only technical skills but also confidence in her future. What began as an interest in STEM evolved into a clear career path. Thanks to her summer experience, Cesia discovered a passion for research and a new career goal she hadnโt even known existed before โ becoming a physician-scientist! She is now in the YES for CURE program at Beth Israel.
At MassBioEd, we're proud to help students explore biotechnology, discover their passions, and envision futures they may never have imagined.

Our Bioteach team began their 2026 summer internship in partnership with the LEAH Project at the Biogen CoLabs! ๐งฌ
During week one, students practiced good lab techniques, explored lab equipment, reviewed central dogma, learned how PCR works, and isolated their DNA from cheek cells to determine if they have a preference for morning or evening activities depending on which alleles they have of the Per3 gene!
We're so excited to see what our interns learn and accomplish this summer. Follow along as we share weekly recaps of their journey!

We're excited to share that MassBioEd won the National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceutical (NIIMBL) Workforce Innovation of the Year Award for our Apprenticeship Program.
What began seven years ago, our apprenticeship program bloomed into a nationally recognized apprenticeship that open doors to careers in the life sciences industry through a mixture of classroom learning and paid, on-the-job experience at biopharmaceutical companies. A huge thank you to our employer and university partners, donors, and community that make this work possible.
We also want to shout out our apprenticeship team, Germaine Palmer and Corinne Kelly, whose incredible dedication and hard work have helped build this program into what it is today. Their commitment to expanding access to life sciences careers has not only made a life changing impact on our apprentices but has also helped shaped a more inclusive life sciences workforce. We also want to recognize Brian Souza for his leadership in guiding the Workforce Development team and for representing our apprenticeship program at NIIMBLโs High-Impact 2026 National Meeting.
We're so honored to have received this recognition!
