The truth is, this country was built by deeply flawed individuals seeking a second chance.🌱 Many had done bad things before they arrived, and many made severe mistakes after they got here (including slavery). But they believed in our capacity to change, and they stood for grand ideals.🗽

True patriotism isn't about pretending we are perfect. It’s about having the courage to own both our heavy history and our incredible potential together.🤝

My fight to end extreme prison sentences and drop LWOP is born entirely out of this American promise. It inherits the bravery and stamina of ancestors who knew what it meant to need grace.✨

Believing in the possibility of redemption is an inherently patriotic act, because it insists that no one is disposable.🕊️
