Just two weeks ago, DaisyLu Ranch rescued this tiny 17-year-old girl from the West Los Angeles Shelter after she was thrown out by her owner. We knew her time with us would likely be short because of her significant heart murmur, but we hoped to give her as much love and comfort as we could.
This weekend, one of Lisaās tumors suddenly ruptured, and she began to hemorrhage. We rushed her to emergency, where we were told that the kindest and most compassionate gift we could give her was a peaceful goodbye. As heartbreaking as it was, we chose to let her go without any more pain or fear.
In just two weeks, Lisa stole our hearts. She followed us everywhere, always wanting to be close, and reminded us how quickly these precious seniors can make an unforgettable impact.
Run free, sweet Lisa. You were loved, even if only for a little while. We are so grateful we could be your safe place at the end of your journey.

This sweet senior boy is estimated to be 10ā12 years old and weighs about 10 pounds. Steve has a calm, gentle soul and asks for very littleājust a soft bed, kind hands, and someone to love him for the rest of his life.
Steve was rescued by DaisyLu Ranch from a neglectful and abusive situation, yet you would never know it. He shows no signs of the hardship he endured. Instead, he greets the world with a gentle heart, quiet trust, and an incredible capacity to love.
He is quiet, affectionate and gets along beautifully with other dogs. Steve has been fully examined by our veterinarian, his bloodwork looks good, and he is ready to begin his next chapter.
We promised Steve that his difficult past would never define the rest of his life. Now all he needs is a family who will love him and cherish him for the wonderful little dog he is.
