Sunday, November 15 is America Recycling Day! In support of this day we ask everyone to take just a moment while outdoors to pick up litter as you pass it. This could be done during a daily walk, or jog/run. Every year on or around Nov. 15, America Recycles Day event organizers educate neighbors, friends and colleagues through thousands of events. "TREES!" This fabulous group of kids made quick work of sorting, bundling, and labeling trees for Calhoun's annual tree seedling giveaway.
Tree seedlings are available free to the public on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 9am to 1pm at the UGA Extension Service Livestock Pavilion on Hwy 53 Spur, Calhoun.
Species include: Persimmon, Northern Red Oak, Cherrybark Oak, Dogwood, Catalpa, Willow Oak, Red Maple, Redbud, Thuja
