As much as I love the quiet chaos of the ocean, I feel the draw of the steadfast mountains calling me home.

We still have a couple days left of the pledge where we will be redistributing 10% of our sales to the and - two projects that are invested in bringing quality of life through the land back to Black and Indigenous communities.

Today I am grateful.

I am grateful to be with my family - who individually and as a whole has overcome adversity time and time again.

I am grateful to my body and mind - for carrying me through a vast emotional spectrum, for carrying and birthing my son, for supporting me even when I couldn’t recognize it was doing so.

I am grateful for my friends - who share with me, make me laugh, build me up, and most of all, who are honest and kind and real.

I am grateful to the Shoshone-Bannock land that I inhabit - where the mountains and valleys, rivers and flowers provide peace, reflection, stability.

I am grateful for you - for being here with me and believing in this vision, even when there are times that I struggle to believe in it myself.

Today I am grateful to know the truth, to continue to learn the truth, about what this day really means for many people.

Today, and everyday, I am grateful.

When I launched in April I wasn’t going into it with the standard idea of launching a new brand. There were things that needed to be included in this maiden launch that I knew I wouldn’t be carrying over into following collections. It was very much about paying homage to the hardship I had endured and the lessons I had learned leading up to that point.

This illustration is one that embodies small moments when I was able to find my creative spark, lying deep underneath my strong yet fragile exterior in my hardest moments. I would find myself getting lost in the clouds of Ferdinand, dreaming up silhouettes in the garden of Moominvalley, and seeking joyful campy goodness in the absurdity of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (can you find the hot dog?).

We made totes and postcards with this illustration for the Kickstarter campaign to highlight this aspect of my journey. When Kari of was printing the totes she threw a ringer tee into the mix as a little gift to me. This illustration is a visual stamp of all that helped to build a bridge from my despair back to my creative mind and I just really cherish this simple little tee.

As we move forward with new collections and aesthetics this illustration will always be at the heart of it all. It’s this feeling of hope and beauty and light within darkness that is at the core of fig nine. I hope you can feel it, too.

Happy peaceful Sunday to you, my friends βœ¨β€‰
