This Week's Featured Art: Fukurokuju, the Japanese God of Longevity! 🦌
Fukurokuju is one of Japan's most beloved deities, a symbol of long life, wisdom, and good fortune. He carries a sacred peach of immortality and is accompanied by a gentle spotted deer representing peace and harmony.
This beautiful piece spent many years in the home of our museum's founder, Mary Hulton Phillips, before finding its permanent home in the Rear Gallery. It's a treasure worth seeing up close!
Join us at The Maridon Museum and meet Fukurokuju and his deer companion in person.
