It is with sorrow I inform you that I am still completely and permanently closed for business. My cancer has returned and I’m medically unstable. Thank you for your past business and trust. I wish you the best in finding a reliable preparer and will miss you all.
Sincerely,
Mary E Pawlowicz

DEADLINE TO UNENROLL IS AUGUST 2ND:The IRS’s Child Tax Credit Update Portal allows families to change the bank account where their Child Tax Credit (CTC) payment is deposited, or to stop monthly payments by unenrolling. Families who want to take these steps should do so by Aug. 2 if they want it to apply to the Aug.13 payment. Deadlines for the rest of 2021 are in Topic J of the Advance Child Tax Credit Payment FAQs. Important: For married couples who file jointly, each spouse must unenroll. If only one spouse unenrolls, the couple will still receive half the normal payment. Similarly, if they are changing bank account information, each spouse must make the update so both halves of their payment go to the new account. See the page on IRS.gov for multilingual CTC materials you can share with your clients.

Good news for those who already filed 2020 returns and paid Federal Tax on all Unemployment Compensation Benefits prior to the tax law change. The IRS is not requiring amended returns. They will internally adjust your previously filed return and refund your tax on the first $10,200 of Unemployment Benefits. It is unclear if they will refund by direct deposit or check...I will keep you posted. Our office will contact clients individually if you had a balance due to give you an adjusted balance this upcoming week.

Due to tax law changes and delayed ability to process tax returns, the IRS has extended the filing and payment deadline to May 17th. If you have already dropped off your tax information, trust that we are diligently working to process your returns and will notify you when they are ready. We appreciate your patience. If you still need a tax preparer, we are open for drop offs but are now looking at an approximate 3 to 4 week processing time.

The IRS is preparing to start depositing the third round of Economic Impact Payments this week. Be watching your bank accounts to check on the status of your payment. Unlike EIP1 and EIP2, a payment will be issued to parents of dependents over age 17 so older high school and college students won’t miss out on this payment. Be aware that the payment will go to the parents, not directly to the student. If you haven’t noticed a payment post to your account, you can begin checking on payment status beginning Wednesday at www.irs.gov , search Get My Payment to be directed to the tool that will help you find out if a payment is on the way.
