Qualifications & Experience

Aerial fiber construction experience and bucket truck experience required
Valid driver’s license required
Must have knowledge in fiber optic construction prints & designs
Must have working knowledge & experience of all types of aerial construction equipment, including bucket truck, fiber trailer, aerial hardware & framing knowledge, etc.
Experience in climbing and utilizing safety equipment, including harness, gloves, blankets, etc.
Must be physically fit, able to negotiate all types of environments that may include walk, stand, kneel, crawl, etc.
Preferred: Experience in ADSS/Power Safety Space fiber construction

Duties and Responsibilities

Managing & motivating a crew consisting of 2-3 groundmen/flaggers
Managing paperwork & creating accurate redlines of construction
Lead all aerial construction for that crew and goal tracking and guidance of crew members
Work with Construction Manager to achieve goals and construction efforts
Applicants must submit to a Driver’s License review, drug test & criminal background check

Job Summary: The Design Engineer 1 is responsible for creating fiber designs that are efficient and deliver solutions to the customer for OSP or ISP construction.

Job Description:
•Designing, researching, and prototyping new products including layouts for OSP and Fiber design
•Collaborating with design and production teams on projects along with relationship building skills
•Generation of bills of materials, splice sheets, and other supporting documentation for design
•Review completed design for errors and efficiency and deliver F1 and F2 designs for projects
•Identify solutions to improve production efficiency
•Develop ISP patch panel diagrams/ cable rack layouts
•Ensure design specifications are maintained
•Adhere to appropriate quality standards set out in the design requirements
•Modifying existing designs or products to improve their performance or integrating new technology
Skill Requirement:
•Excellent Communication and problem-solving skills
•Accurate and strong attention to detail and strong work ethic and integrity
•Competence in design methodology, process, and metrics
•Flexibility to work shift differential hours and strong organizational skills
•Ability to write lisp routine and other CAD assistance program a plus
•Google suite, AutoCad and MicroStation preferred
•ESRI Products and ArcPro experience required
•Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
•Excellent Team player and teamwork skills

Educational Requirement:
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, GIS, product design, discipline, or certification in drafting
•3 years’ experience in a similar role
•Experience with telecommunications fiber networks is required
