Hello Middle School

Not too long ago, someone asked me “Why would you spend so much money on your classroom “ and it really stuck with me. I spend at a minimum, seven hours a day in this room. Sometimes I eat lunch in this room. I almost always eat breakfast in this room. Sometimes I stay after in this room. Sometimes I come in on the weekends to this room. My kids frequently hang out in this room. This room consumes about a third of my day, and after over a decade in this field, I decided to make it everything I wanted and more. For me and for my students. Because ultimately, I want to enjoy this space together- diving into novels, hearing all of the stories, embracing the laughter, and making memories that we will be so happy to look back on. Was it necessary to spend the money on this classroom to do this? Absolutely not. But I did it because I wanted to, and that should be more than ok. I am absolutely in love with my classroom this year and cannot wait for my students to see its transformation!
