Classroom to the Operating Room*
March 19, 2020, University at Buffalo, Center for Tomorrow

You are invited to join the University at Buffalo Libraries for an informative and inspiring half-day symposium. This second annual symposium will explore the issues surrounding ethics, virtual and augmented realities and 3D printing technologies in both traditional and clinical medical education environments. Check-in begins at 8:15 am, with speakers beginning at 9. There will be plenty of opportunities for networking with colleagues and vendors. Further details and registration available in early 2020.

Building VR Neighborhoods and Moments for Dementia Patients 12/20/2019

Students incorporate experiential learning into their college experience through UB ELN's Project Portal. A great example of a project that students can get involved in is, "Building VR Neighborhoods and Moments for Dementia Patients." This project, in particular, would benefit greatly from having a few women undergrad STEM students get involved in the development, implementation, or research elements of this worthy endeavor. Cynthia Tysick is the Project Mentor.

Building VR Neighborhoods and Moments for Dementia Patients Virtual Reality offers dementia patients the opportunity to relive happy moments in familiar surroundings from the comfort of their chair.

NSF grant to support research in micro-credentials 10/30/2019

UB Sam Abramovich, professor of learning and instruction, and director of the Open Education Research Lab receives an NSF grant to continue research on micro-credentials in education.
