Something a little extra is available with your delivery this week — and it is going to make someone very happy.
Fresh, locally grown flowers from Cloverbee Flowers are now available to add to your FreshFix order — and they are exactly what your kitchen table, your front porch, or your favorite person has been missing.
Cloverbee is a woman-owned, small flower farm right here in Western New York, practicing sustainable and organic-style farming to bring genuinely healthy, chemical-free blooms to this community. These are not flowers that traveled across the country in a refrigerated truck. They were grown with intention, cut fresh, and bursting with the kind of color and fragrance that only comes from a flower grown the right way in local soil.
Treat yourself. Treat someone you love. Put them on the table and make an ordinary Tuesday feel like something worth celebrating. That is exactly what fresh, locally grown flowers do.

Because why should your produce box have all the fun.
Local strawberries are here — and we want to make sure yours last as long as possible.
Because nothing is more heartbreaking than a pint of beautiful, locally grown berries going soft before you get to enjoy every single one of them. Here are three tips to keep them fresh longer:
1. Do not wash them until you are ready to eat them.
Water is the enemy of a fresh strawberry. Moisture speeds up mold faster than anything else — so keep them dry and only rinse the ones going straight into your mouth or your bowl.
2. Store them in a single layer.
Strawberries bruise easily and a pile of berries is a recipe for early spoilage. Lay them out on a paper towel lined plate or shallow container, pop them in the fridge uncovered, and check daily to pull any that are starting to soften before they take the others down with them.
3. Freeze them at peak ripeness.
Local strawberry season is short — devastatingly short. Hull them, slice them, freeze flat on a baking sheet, then transfer to a freezer bag and you have got a taste of WNY summer locked in for up to 12 months. Smoothies, jams, baked goods, sauces — all winter long. You are welcome.
Fresh local strawberries from Browns Berry Patch are available in your FreshFix box right now — and they are worth every bit of effort it takes to make them last.
