I think I'm pretty much done. Winch installed and fog lights too.

I sure have to get bigger tires because it looks little odd. LOL.

Newest update in the build is;

Floor is finished, all panels of the floor are welded in, everything is sealed inside to outside of the tub. Even big voids where seemed like water, salt, mud and everything in between got in, I’ve filled out with marine grade seal foam. Everything got bedliner on it, inside and under the tub.

Frame is also finished, all caps are welded in, sealed, bedliner. Only thing left at this point is work on the suspension to finish everything up, button up new brake lines, springs, shocks, and she’s ready to roll under but not before the tub get new paint on it. We are going with Rally Red vs green. Wasn’t going to take chances on a $800 point with my driveway painter skills haha!

Anyways! Like and follow the page for more updates and changes coming. Share anywhere.

Had some time to put towards the jeep. Last night we rolled out the chassis and it was time to get going on that frame. Now that we have access to everything, we can look at what needs to be replaced, fixed, welded, etc..

So far, bushings are gone all around. Going to have to find those. Bolts and nuts, rust had a field with those too. So measurements and forums hopefully will help with those. I’ve got a list of measurements in terms of bolts for control arms, upper and lower. I think I’ll just replace those then try to force bushings out. Linkages, not sure what to do with those yet. Pretty rusty and sandy.

Took my air needle tool and went at it for about two hours. I left the bottom of the frame alone for now since half of it will be cut off with a plasma cutter and safety caps will be welded in.

The next step is to grind down and get rid of as much bumpy metal as possible from the rust eater. Then we will use Corroseal, for rust proofing, let it make. After that, it’s POR-15 and top coat.

And so it starts, after about an hour or so of unbolting, disconnecting, etc.. which consisted a couple of days and time I had to spend on Kermit with everything going on in my life, Kermit is finally in two.

The chassis is separated from the tub, which allows me to inspect the frame, fix any panels that need to be so that Kermit can be back on the road again. Hopefully get at least a run before snow comes and I put him to sleep for winter.

From the looks of it, it’ll be a bit of a batter but I’ve been there before. Not as extensive as this one but I’ve battled through my share of rusty hole frames and panels. This one is also not as heavy vehicle or as much of it, so hoping it’ll be little easier to achieve and fix it up.
