Summer Picnic 2026!

Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us!

As we approach warmer months, we want to remind our members of how dangerous working in the heat can be! Make sure you are taking enough rests throughout the work day to cool down and stay hydrated. If you or a team mate begins showing signs of heat exhaustion, immediately take a break, remove yourselves from the hot environment, and slowly rehydrate. Heat Exhaustion can quickly turn to Heat Stroke which can lead to permanent disability or death.

Symptoms of Heat Exhaustion include:
- Dizziness or Light-headedness
- Headache or Nausea
- Heavy Sweating
- Muscle cramps, pain or spasms in the abs, arms or legs
- Heat rash (skin irritation caused by excessive sweating)

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has great resources for learning more about heat related illnesses ->

REMINDER!!! The Local 71 Summer Outing is almost here! AND if you attend the outing you will receive this union t-shirt 🇺🇸

Join us Saturday, July 18 at Lamm Manor Grove for a day of food, drinks, fresh clams, co****le, and fun with fellow members.

BBQ Smoke Off Details:
- Meat Pickup: July 17 at the Hall
- Smoking Begins: July 18 at 11 AM at Lamm Manor Grove
- Smoking Ends: 3 PM for judging
- Sign-Up Deadline: July 10

Continuing Education Summer 2026 Training Classes are now open for registration. Members can choose from Intro to Inventors, OSHA 10, OSHA 30, Procore 101, and TIG Welding.

Spots are limited, and registration deadlines begin July 15. Members who complete a class will receive a $25 gift card, and OSHA 30 participants can earn a $250 boot voucher upon completion!
