This I'm remembering my amazing talk with Tom Elliott Tom Elliott, one of the most engaging, effective, and talented comedy magicians in the UK. He is the Founder & Creative Productivity Coach at Focused Creative, where he connects with creatives, and helps them reach their most ambitious goals.
We had a wonderful conversation about Tom's journey into the magic and comedy world, how he started, and why he decided to stay in it. We also talked about his passion for giving back, where it comes from, and what projects he is working on. Tom shared his mission, and he also spoke about the legacy he wants to leave behind, as well as the one he wants to live in.

When I first started, I tried to do everything myself and I had various excuses I used:
- I don’t have the money to hire or outsource.
- I have time so I would rather save the $$?
- No one will do it as well as I can.
- Teaching someone takes too long and I could’ve just been done already.
🤦♀️The truth was, I did not value my time.
➡️ I could’ve easily outsourced most tasks for $20/hr or less.
That same hour would have been much better spent closing a high-ticket offer. Or creating content that will drive leads and sales into my business. Doing that $20 an hour task ended up costing me $100s an hour!
➡️ I also wasted a ton of time and money learning new skill sets I would only need a few times (and never mastered).
BTW, because those new skills were NOT in my zone of genius...and it showed...big time!
