May is Bladder Cancer Awareness Month, and we are joining the AACR in raising awareness about this disease that affects thousands of people each year. Bladder cancer is the sixth most common cancer in the United States, with approximately 84,530 new diagnoses and nearly 17,870 deaths estimated in 2026 alone. The disease is most common among white men, with incidence rates four times higher in men than in women. Risk factors include to***co use, family history, and workplace exposure to certain chemicals. The five-year survival rate for bladder cancer is approximately 79.1%, making early detection and ongoing research critical to improving patient outcomes.
