Who has a sump pump that comes on during rains?

Does your sump pump come on during or after rain events? If it does, your storm piping is leaking and now your sump pump is lifting rain water that has leaked into the ground and migrates to your foundation drain which drains to your sump pump. Then if the pump continues to run, the rain water leaks back into your foundation drain and now your sump pump is pumping the same rain water again again.
