🌊⚓ A Journey Back in Time Beneath the Red Sea ⚓🌊

Last week our Ray Scuba Dive Family had the incredible opportunity to dive one of the most famous wrecks in the world—the legendary SS Thistlegorm.

Sunk in 1941 while transporting military supplies to Allied forces in North Africa, the Thistlegorm now rests on the seafloor as one of the most sought-after wreck dives on the planet. Diving her is like swimming through a perfectly preserved underwater museum where history comes alive around every corner.

As you scroll through these photos, you're seeing actual pieces of World War II history:

📸 The Stern Gun – Still standing watch over the wreck more than 80 years later.

📸 Military Motorcycles – Parked inside the cargo holds exactly where they were loaded before the ship was lost.

📸 Truck Batteries – Supplies frozen in time, a reminder of the vital cargo this vessel carried.

📸 Aircraft Parts – Components of military aircraft scattered throughout the holds, telling the story of a world at war.

📸 Bedford Military Trucks – Perhaps the most iconic sight on the wreck. Seeing these trucks lined up inside the cargo hold feels less like a dive and more like stepping into a time machine.

The visibility, history, and sheer scale of the Thistlegorm are difficult to put into words. Every corner tells a story, and every dive reveals something new. We came home with thousands of photos and memories, so consider this just a preview—there are many more stories and images from the Red Sea still to come!

And if seeing these photos makes you wish you were there, don't worry—the adventure doesn't stop here. In January, our Dive Family heads to Chuuk Lagoon, home to one of the largest collections of World War II shipwrecks on Earth. If the Thistlegorm is a glimpse into history, Chuuk is an entire underwater history book.

There may still be a spot available if you'd like to join us on this incredible expedition. 🤿⚓

Who knows? The next unforgettable wreck photo could be yours.
