Finally on the Garmin site after months of leaked photos and so forth. LVS42 is the HD variant most freshwater folks will lean towards.

Some important notes ... The GPSMAP units with dials (1222, 1242, 1022, etc.) are not listed as compatible. Most other units appear to be.

Sonar returns will never require 4K or super high resolution, but they may benefit from it. Think about the capability of what a sonar image can return vs the intent of HD. In other words, you may get sharper lines, brighter returns, less noise, and improved separation. Don't expect to see a fish's scales etc. I can elaborate on this in subsequent posts.

Price is fair in my opinion. I'll be interested how these hold up with integrated processing.
