Had a blast yesterday making Sudanese Ka’ak كعك with . Aromas of ghee and cardamom transported us back to the kitchens of our grandmothers, mothers and aunts, and the taste and texture of these buttery, crumbly spiced cookies brought a simple joy that made us feel like we were 9 years old again.

Once upon a time in Dubai, I used to bake and sell pies for the holidays. This year, I made my pecan pie and a pumpkin cheesecake layer pie. Happy Thanksgiving!
