We had so much fun hosting the summer camp crew from last week for a solar dye workshop with marigold flowers! ☀️🌼

Solar dyeing is one of our favorite natural dye techniques because it’s simple, hands-on, and a great project for kids. Using just sunshine, flowers, water, and fabric, the color slowly transfers over time—no rushing required.

Everyone prepped their fabric and added it to a jar with marigold flowers and warm water to start the dyeing process. Then they took their jars home to place in a sunny window and watch the colors develop over the next week.

Now comes the hardest part: waiting! We can’t wait to see how everyone’s pieces turn out.
