One of the ways the Church has missed on opportunities to take this good news to the world and disciple nations is by failing to equip people to be specialists, highly skilled at things apart from church. As a highly skilled musician years ago I was able to play before the princess of Norway. And work with writers and producers behind some of the biggest pop/secular songs in the world you’ve heard. And in each of those rooms, I had the opportunity to share God’s love to people without a mic and a pulpit.

The point is some of you are skilled at “non-spiritual” things that will bring you to places and spaces a pastor will never get to go into. Cooking. Cleaning. Drawing. Baking. Writing. Designing. Planning. Budgeting. Gardening. Home decor. What are you good at? What comes naturally to you that others are impressed by? Pray and ask God to use it. Because your gifts will make room for you and bring you before great men. It’s more than just a hobby. Let God breathe on it. Pursue mastery of it and let that be your ministry to change the world around you!

Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 2since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
