June Swoon

Doesn’t get more analog than an in-store performance! Coming to the shop on Saturday 3/21 is underground legend June Swoon, a Los Angeles based singer-songwriter/producer whose multifaceted musical point of view cuts through genre. Her ability to create heady concept albums is reminiscent of Pink Floyd or Brian Wilson, and her intuitive knack for pop melody lines rivals any major label artists. She has self-produced two full length albums on vinyl and toured the U.S. with a full band. She is currently creating twin bodies of work, one inspired by “Lilith Fair era rock and roll,” blending blues, rock, folk, country, and pop, and the other inspired by “witchy chamber pop,” a blend of dark folk and psychedelic mystique.

Joining June Swoon for this special afternoon musical performance is San Diego dream pop group In Mazes, who “carefully manicures negative space, leaving plenty of room to frame its lead singer’s sublimely delicate vocals,” and San Diego ambient songwriter Stylaster, whose “dirt pop” compositions are both ethereal and gritty: little pieces of heaven, fertilized by earthworms.
