We have a little surprise for Bandcamp Day today. It's a 'lost' Metro Area track from 2002 called "We Also Not." Originally appearing on the "More G.D.M." series on Tigersushi, "We Also Not" is the only song Metro Area has released outside of their EPs and album. Hope you'll check it out!

there aren't too many music spaces right now in New York City where you can feel truly buffered from the outside world and its unending deluge of information, the money struggles, societal power dynamics, the clamoring for our attention. the noise. you can probably count them on one hand.

musicland is most definitely among them and is a place which invites us all to feel free within its walls to create fresh, new inspired vibes from the records that are played and our enjoyment of them.

friday night is the time, musicland is the place and I'm really looking forward to unwinding from the week with you all over the course of the night and to serving up a wide variety of joyful tunes with my trusted copilot and collaborator, señor Tambourine.

This past weekend marked 20 years since the first release of our Metro Area album. We wanted to do something nice for the 20th anniversary, but we had already remastered and re-released the album for the 15th. So this time around, we’re doing something a bit different.

Environ has remastered and will reissue the first four 12” records: Metro Area, Metro Area 2, Metro Area 3 and Metro Area 4. Unlike the album reissue, these include the original, extended 12” versions of all songs, including some which have never been re-released.

The good news is we have the test pressings and the remastering and cuts by Matt Colton sound absolutely incredible. The bad news is the supply chain is upside down and release dates have been delayed to early 2023. But we wanted to at least announce the news this week.
