I repeat this to myself often lately.
The energy swirling around sweeps me away some days. I feel my jaw clenching and my hands tightening into fists. I quickly shake it off and repeat this to find grounding. Hate will never create love.

Frustration and helplessness combined with feeling ignored and dismissed compounds into anger. If left unattended, the anger can transform into Hate.

My mind jumps to Martin Luther King Jr. and his belief in nonviolence. From there, the words of Yoda about fear, hate and suffering remind me that we must stop the cycle.

Easier said than done with everything going on in the world but my wish for all of us is to turn our backs on hate and to reach out to the hold the hand of the ones we once considered an enemy.

I sat in my sadness and disappointment yesterday. I found peace talking with those who feel the same about the world and the direction it seems to be headed.

My shadow side longed to dive deep into the spiral of depression and hopelessness but I remembered the words of a yoga teacher on how we can only control ourselves and how we show up in the world.

I choose to be bright.
I choose to be beautiful from within.
I choose to be colorful.
I choose to create connection.
I choose to be love.

Shine bright, everyone. Never let anyone take your magic.
