Shade was only 4 months old when she was attacked by another dog. She suffered hemorrhaging puncture wounds to her neck. Her frantic owners were forced to consider putting their puppy to sleep because they could not afford her emergency medical care. Thanks to the generosity of animal lovers like you, Positive Tails was able to fund Shade's lifesaving treatment.

Poor Shade was attacked by another dog. His family rushed him to and Shade had puncture wounds in his jugular. Due to the location this was very serious and Shade needed immediate help. His medical team was able to stabilize her but she would need surgical wound repair and around the clock care to make it through. Shade’s life was only just beginning so when was contacted it was an immediate yes for us!
Shade received the care she needed and we’re thrilled to say she has been reunited with her family (and her new little friend went home with her too)
Your support makes it possible for us to say yes to so many emergencies..so thank you! Thank you from us, thank you from Shade’s medical team (for giving them the opportunity to save Shade), and from Shade’s family-it is because of you that they have a long life together ahead of them!

This pup’s family was no longer able to keep her and resorted to asking strangers on the street to take her. Circumstances force people into difficult decisions.
She found herself into the right hands, thankfully! The right person (pictured here) took Sonia (and gave her new name)even though he wasn’t prepared to take in a dog at that moment he knew he had to act so Sonia didn’t end up in the wrong hands. This is a situation we never want to find ourselves in but also one that many of us can relate to.
He reached out to us at about getting her the care she needs. We don’t yet know what that will entail. It is clear that Sonia has been neglected and has medical issues as a result so we don’t yet know the cost of care yet.
We had the opportunity to meet Sonia and we’re getting her into one of our partner vets this week.
Huge thanks to Sonia’s rescuer for doing what was right even when the timing was completely wrong.
Stay tuned..this is only the beginning of Sonia’s story.
