Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend an exclusive roundtable with a group of inspiring Latinas in media, ranging from producers and playwrights to directors and actors. We were there to meet and engage with Cynthia López, an Emmy-winning powerhouse in media and the current Executive Director of , who continues to make history. She’s also Puerto Rican from Brooklyn, just like me. 🇵🇷
Held at the beautiful studios of , as part of an “encuentro” led by and their Estella Institute, we shared our backgrounds, and received invaluable insights from Cynthia’s life and experiences. We all discussed what inspired us to enter media and found that often it was love—for our community, our family, or ourselves—and the importance of representing and giving voice to others.
A huge thank you to Tio Louie Perego, Cynthia López, Rashiek Smart, and Catherine. It was wonderful reconnecting with some amazing women I knew and have worked with, and meeting new phenomenal talent I hope to collaborate with. I am so happy and proud to be a member of and applaud the work they do to support all women in this industry, especially the most historically marginalized.
