MUSEUM MOMENTS: MFA BOSTON
From Guyana, London to New York, Frank Bowling's profilic contributions from 1963 till now go beyond the canvas into teaching, writing and cultural critique of attitudes toward black art and artists. He paved "new routes into abstraction and a defiance of limits on his painting," exemplified by the fact that he's still in the studio creating and experimenting at the ripe age of 89 today. These pieces lit my imagination in a way I haven't experienced with abstract Art before.
